About the Instructor

Jon has been involved in many arenas of education. Working in the classroom with at-risk youth, coaching basketball, establishing the Big Picture Educational Academy, a K-12 charter school are a few of his accomplishments. Jon has worked in mental health, probation, and is a certified trainer in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy with the William Glasser Institute.  He trained personally with world renowned psychiatrist, Dr. William Glasser the developer of Choice Theory/Reality Therapy and has effectively applied these principles in the classroom.

Jon is currently a Continuing Education Online Instructor for Fresno Pacific University. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Fresno in the Criminology Department. He and his wife Mary are owners of JM Consulting, a private consulting business. In addition, he also works with students at the Big Picture High School as their Learning Through Internship and Community Coordinator.

Jon and Mary were married in 1965 and currently reside in Fresno, California. They have three adult children, Jon Jr, Jason and Jennifer. They co-authored a book entitiled "Light a Candle or Curse the Darkness: How to Connect With America's Youth" Jon is currently fulfilling his passion of teaching others the skills that he has learned through all the endeavors of his life thus far.
